Conditional Processing (Conditional pages, Squeezing, white-space management)
Conditional Processing (CI) is a feature of DocBase to either manage white-space or to achieve an exact number of pages.
White-space management: A predefined section will be measured after formatting a document. Based on the space left and based on marketing information, a specific advertisement will be inserted into the document at a given place. See also Transpromo.
Conditional pages: This feature ensures that a document always fulfills rules in regards of number of pages. A rule might state that a document or a section of a document must have a multiple of four pages and that missing pages may be filed with empty pages. This feature is essential to support booklet-format.
Squeezing: Sometimes it is necessary that content fits exactly onto one or two pages. Typical documents are fact-sheets or marketing collateral. Based on rules a document is re-formatted from the beginning with different squeezing strategies (font-size, line-spacing) until all rules a fulfilled.
